The ambience set by the trailer's just jummy.
Though... Square-Enix, even as a publisher, will have had a hand in the making of that :)

Deus Ex was a brilliant FPS shooter. One of the first where you actually had the choice to choose different paths throughout the game, and the game rocked at it.

The sequel to this masterpiece was some milky cow rip off (imo, don't shoot me :) ), but I hope with this third game they bring back the old glory of the title again.

Yes, it was impressive! Deus Ex 1 that is.
The sequel was on Steam for € 1,50 a while ago which is just about right for that piece of crap.

What appealed to me most about Deus Ex 1 was the plot.
Right after 9/11 happened I just had to replay it again; it just resonated immensely.

The post mortem videos by designers/producers Warren Spector and Harvey Smith are good watch by the way!
That link of a Youtube search also has a clip by a TV news show on Eidos Montreal featuring a Deus Ex 3 blurb.
I think they're hinting at Thief 4 being made by Eidos Montreal as well.

Some interviews concerning Deus Ex 3.

Eurogamer 10th June Preview
Jean-François Dugas Interview (Title of Game Director; his pedigree's on Mobygames)
And a few scans and translation from what I think is a Polish magazine?

Interesting reads all of them. A few key things;
- Proper aiming (a proper FPS experience) from the get-go.
- Levels slightly roamier then Deus Ex 1, the original.
- Conversation system that is more strategic then the one in Mass Effect.
- Assurances that they understand DE2 was dissapointing and DE1 rocked.
