i am trying to come up with the name of an old 80´s sci-fi movie i vaguely remember.
in the movie there is something similar to the spawn in Ridley Scotts movies "Alien"
and there is some sort of radiation in the desolate cold place the are in so they have to smoke some red ciggarettes all the time to keep the radiation sickness at bay.
any tips are welcome, this has been bugging my memory for along time.

just came to think of that when you get infected/omfested with these parasites you scream when you encounter "fresh meat"

are you sure you aren't mixing 2 movies together? I recall the cigaretts and screamers but they were mechanical killing machines in that movie.
I also have vague recollection of some other movie where they took over bodies and then screamed whenever they found someone that was not taken over.

Well the movie Screamers takes place on a cold planet where they have to smoke red cigaretts. Also they rescue a child at some point that turns out to be a screamer that goes true some wierd transformation.

anti radiation. whenever there was a radiation storm some kind of warning sounded and everyone switched from regular to red cigaretts.
