Fallout 3

thinking of buying the game.
is it worth it?
im not looking for a worthy sequel to the older games, just some good quality time-wasting game.
yay or nay?

It's pretty good - compared to Oblivion.
The main plot is weak and short and has a horrible conclusion.

Don't expect a Fallout 1 or 2. Other then that it's reasonably interesting.
It's more of a shooter then an RPG thing.

Check out Yahtzee's review too.

Me and myca played it and we loved it.

We strayed a lot and did side quests. We didnt really focus on the main story until we were more or less max lvl.

Search for "Vengeance" mini gun but with laser ... fully repair it and wtf auto gibb everyone that comes in your way :)

Have fun!

Seems so only played a bit though still have to escape from the vault, you have to figure out combat/gameplay a bit foryerself in the start just an online help function there is;overal atmosphere is nice it seems though and convincing.
Actually i was tired and fell asleep on the couch this afternoon and dreamt there was an actual nuclear threat from russia cause of low oil prices and janpeter was on the tv saying they have to take in account any thing can happen now not sure if that speaks in favor of the game!

Fenz, yes you can complete the game with just the VATS.
Though sometimes you might need to "leg it" while your "action points" fill up - if you fight too many (higher powered) enemies at a time.
It is a pretty freeform game - so if you hit a tough spot you might want to reconsider trying something elsewhere in the gameworld.

Just put points in "Small Guns" and take "Gun Nut" as perks during the first couple of levels and you'll be good to go for the rough stuff soon enough.
And don't forget the "Ammo Scavenging" perk if you suffer from ammo shortages like Rapter.

decide to end it yesterday, had a feeling i was at the end of the main questline, so i decide to run that course without doing anymore sidequests.
i guess i have missed alot of content doing this and i have an save-file to get back to and discover the rest in the game.
i dont regret that i bought the game, its a quality piece of gaming hours.
too bad the main quest line was so short in the game and i got really surprised when i realized in the game that it was the end, had saved alot of weapons/ammo for the grand imba hard section in the game that never came...
i will definetely try and get my hands on the first action-addon (anchorage) this weekend.
i really hope to see more of the fallout series in the future then just another mini-addon.
i give it 8 out of 10.
i think they have could put a bit more effort on the game and it would have definetely made the top 3 game of my life...

Played Fallout 3 for the first time today, like it allot but I keep crashing when I use VATS mode. Anyone had issues with that?
