Next generation of crap from MS

Post by Raniz »

Windows 7, people say that it's what Vista should have been. You'll all end up with a copy of it sooner or later, and when you've actually bought it you can't use your old apps because they're discontinued and MS decided that backwards compatibility is for losers.

Fun thing is that they're not coming with any new ideas at all, the new "superbar" is the same thing OSX have had for years.

well at least it dosen't seem to be such a big resource hog like vista :)

I've been trying it out on my other computer and so far i like it, although it's very VERY like vista :P, still same version number 6.something :P

Windows 7 will backward compatible, but its different! :)
Previous versions of Windows provided backwards compatibility with older versions of windows, making it easy for users to upgrades as their favorite programs would still work.

However, with Windows 7 Microsoft are approaching backwards compatibility differently, and Windows 7 will not be binary compatible with older versions. This won’t mean that older programs won’t run, but that virtualisation will be used to make them run. The key drivers for this are performance improvements, but also in an attempt to sidestep regulatory programs..

Just asked a MSDN collegue for a beta version...curious how it will perform. I uninstalled Vista after 3 days since it was too bloated.

Make sure you have enough tape to glue all those SSD´s to the side of your case...
Complicating is the true path to simplicity.

Wow is performing less than under XP, but nothing has been tweaked yet.

I think what he means is that SSD drivers have a short life cycle when used with Windows, because of the limited write-erase cycles.
